Having had no experience in the hotel trade before, we approached the project based on where we would like to stay and trusted that there were other people who felt the same.
Having enjoyed / endured the pleasure of 7 children, we appreciate the opportunity to have some time to ourselves and so made the hotel “Adult only”.
We like to stay in places that feel like a treat away from home and so we wanted to create a “better than home” experience with the indulgence of space and privacy. We therefore turned 24 bedrooms into just 5 luxury suites / apartments.
Breakfast is always a battle as I wake up starving hungry whilst Heather likes a lie-in and won’t venture into a communal dining room without “putting her face on”, etc. We have therefore provided kitchens in each suite to give the flexibility to prepare your own breakfast when you want it with the option of having a breakfast hamper delivered to your suite. This further gives the freedom to prepare a sandwich or picnic for lunch, order in or prepare a meal in the evening and to cater for guests with special dietary requirements.
We also like the freedom to invite guests round, whether when visiting children at university or for relatives / friends who live locally. All our suites have separate lounges for entertaining guests or even holding informal business meetings.
Lastly, we like to sample what the area has to offer when we are away and we therefore decided not to include a restaurant in the hotel but to prepare a list of recommendations based on personal experience to include restaurants and pubs, as well as local attractions and activities. Having only a small number of guests at any one time allows us to provide a very personalised service to our guests and we enjoy making every effort to make sure you have a memorable stay.
We hope you enjoyed our story!
